Why mark products?
Marking or engraving is often a legal requirement. It is hard to imagine a gun or a car without its unique identification code. In the auto industry every vehicle can carry a thousand different designations (from ignition key to wheel rim). Also, pharmaceuticals are required to carry batch information and production and expiry dates.
Marking (e.g. barcode or 2D code) allows a more efficient logistic management process. Before a packet of your favourite crackers gets to your table, it must progress through several information systems – the producer´s expedition, the carrier, the store and the retail checkout, where you can find the price of the product on the receipt thanks to its unique marking.
