Laser marking of wood

Laser marking of wood is no longer the preserve of heat stamps. As the production of wood products is accelerating, laser technology must be deployed frequently. Laser marking and engraving of wood is not only used in design. Very often the aim is the unique identification of special wood or chipboard products such as shipping pallets, kitchenware or furniture parts. In these cases, it is necessary to rely on industrial lasers.

In some cases it is possible to mark the wood with a contrasting label, without significant engraving (i.e. without taking away material). However, it can also be done the other way around. Using a laser source, we are able to remove a layer of wood without blackening it. The scanning marking and cutting heads can also be used at high speed, so the process can be accelerated several times faster than with a plotter. Due to the higher power, it is also easy to cut the wood very well and quickly with CO2 lasers.
