Stainless steel
A special and perhaps the most used type of steel is stainless steel. Due to its excellent universal properties, it is used across all industries. From food as stainless steel utensils, to functional and design elements of cars in the automotive industry.
Even though it is a hard metal, marking it is easy and, in addition, by varying the laser beam settings, we are able to mark pure stainless steel with different colours without using any additional material. Thus, markings of different colours as well as many design images can be achieved. This marking is achieved by hardening the stainless steel with a certain temperature between 300 and 1400 degrees Celsius. This application can be carried out, for example, with our higher-end LLS-F20EP fibre laser. According to the requirement for permanence of the marking, especially due to the stresses on the stainless steel during use, the stainless steel can also be engraved very well and quickly.
