Advantages of laser welding of plastics
- Non-contact welding method,
- high weld quality,
- Higher depth of penetration,
- targeted, small and well localised heat load,
- high productivity,
- surface appearance,
- easier automation,
- welding at high temperatures,
- 3D contour processing (high flexibility),
- the result is wear-resistant.
Typical applications
Laser welding of plastics is mainly used in automotive, mechanical and electrical engineering, typically for:
headlamps made of PMMA/ABS combination,
automotive fittings made of PC/ABS,
pump and tank bodies,
bumpers and covers,
electronic control units,
electronics housings with sensitive components.
On customer’s request, we can supply single-purpose customized stations or complex welding lines. In our application laboratory, we test samples directly on your parts and recommend the optimal solution.
How the contract is implemented
Verification of feasibility – testing of samples in the application laboratory and checking the permeability of the plastic material.
Design of jigs – production of setting and pressure jigs.
Equipment design – design and manufacture of automated machine, laser installation, programming.
Commissioning – commissioning and recovery of the machine at the customer’s site.
Service – Warranty and post-warranty support.
