CO₂ laser

CO2 lasers operate in the far infrared region (around 10 µm), which gives them a high reflectivity on metals, but they also interact with materials that lasers at lower wavelengths have problems with. For example, they interact with glass and organic materials (wood, leather, paper), but also with plastics. CO2 lasers are offered in continuous mode with a power of tens to a few hundred watts, which can be divided into pulses using PWM. Despite their good beam quality, they achieve larger, less detailed traces due to their high wavelength.
