Advantages of laser cutting
- Very narrow cutting width
- Cutting of complex shapes
- Processing of very hard or brittle materials
- Cost-effective solution for small production batches
- High-quality cutting edges
- Excellent dimensional accuracy
- Energy-efficient cutting process
The cutting geometry can be easily adjusted using laser software. Thanks to the minimal diameter of the laser track, even highly detailed patterns can be cut with excellent edge quality and repeatability.
Laser cutting is suitable for a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, wood, ceramics, and other materials with appropriate optical properties for laser radiation.
Upon request, we can also design and manufacture a customized solution for a specific workstation or single-purpose machine tailored to your requirements.
Principle of laser cutting
Depending on the material type and thickness, both fusion cutting and sublimation cutting methods can be used. While fusion cutting uses higher power continuous lasers in combination with a technological head positioned by an external mechanism for melting the cut line and subsequent blowing of the melt from the cutting point by an assisting gas, the sublimation method consists in gradual engraving (i.e. evaporation) of the cut line. For the purpose of sublimation cutting, lower power pulsed lasers are used in combination with a deflection head.
Fibre lasers or CO2 lasers can be successfully used as laser sources, depending on the type of material to be cut.
