Excursion from Knoflík in LINTECH

At the beginning of November we were visited by Czech students from the Gymnasium in Domažlice and their Bavarian friends from the Realschule in Waldmünchen, who participated in the project Digitally International organized by the voluntary association Knoflík.

Students were guided through the entire production process, seeing the manufacturing processes of stampers/spacers, faceplates, identification labels and precision laser cutting. We then proceeded to the manufacturing floor where we construct custom laser equipment. So they had the opportunity to actually see how these complex machines are designed, programmed and even assembled. At the end of the excursion, in our application lab, we demonstrated laser applications to the students on a LIN-box: marking, engraving, cutting, drilling and cleaning. And to make sure that the participants did not go home empty-handed, everyone was able to take home a small gift in the form of a pen with the LINTECH logo and their own engraved name.

Digitally International is a new project for Czech and Bavarian schools. It focuses on the topic of digitalization, Industry 4.0 and the changes that the development of information technology brings not only to the border area. The programme includes excursions to innovative companies in the region. The aim of the meeting is to provide young people with information on the possibilities of vocational training in industrial and technical fields and to motivate them to communicate in a foreign language – a valuable competence for cross-border cooperation. The seminars are most suitable for pupils aged between 12 and 20. The project is organised by the Knoflík association in Pilsen and the Centre for Youth Education in Waldmünchen.
