Laser sources and optics in the application laboratory
With a wide range of laser sources and optical components, we can select a solution to meet your tact, quality and price requirements.
We have the following laser sources available in a total average power range from 1.5W to 500W:
– pulsed and continuous NIR fiber laser
– pulsed green crystal laser
– CO2 lasers
We also have deflection heads with different characteristics in different apertures from 10 to 30 mm allowing to transfer power from all our available lasers including their different wavelengths. For cutting applications, we can use the RX 160 robotic arm positioning technology head from Stäubli.
We then select the appropriate focusing optics. The choice of lens depends on the specific application – the required size of the working field, the built-in dimensions of the laser system or the required detail of the laser trace. We have a wide range of lenses available for testing, from F-theta 100 mm to 650 mm, allowing us to cover working areas up to 400×400 mm.
Evaluation and quality control
Testing in the application laboratory results in the recommendation of the appropriate technology for the optimal process according to the customer’s requirements, including physical samples that the customer receives for evaluation. If necessary, further optimization steps are carried out.
For quality verification we use:
– binocular and digital microscope,
– barcode verifier,
– capillary and leak tests,
– CT analysis of plastic parts (in cooperation).
Our design department designs special insertion and positioning fixtures that simulate real production conditions and increase testing accuracy.
Cooperation with partners
In addition to the laser equipment available in our application laboratory, we also offer the possibility of testing with our main suppliers – IPG Photonics and Trumpf. We then integrate their technologies into our customers’ solutions.
In case of successful testing of the application, we will prepare an offer for a specific machine. In the case of smaller volumes, we are able to pass on the know-how to our colleagues in custom production, where several laser machines are available.
Robotic arm in the application laboratory
With the growing demand for robotics, we expanded our lab with the RX 160 robotic arm from Stäubli in March 2019. Thanks to the high rigidity and precision of the robotic arm, we are able to test very precise laser texturing or cutting applications. At the same time, we also use the robotic arm as a positioner to demonstrate, for example, laser trimming of sprue systems or overflows on geometrically complex parts.
